If you’re wandering through Zurich and looking for an authentic taste of Aotearoa, make a beeline for Le Mur Cafe & Kiosk, located at Engelstrasse 59. This charming cafe is more than just a coffee shop; it’s a warm, inviting slice of New Zealand in the heart of Zurich, where locals and tourists alike come together to enjoy not just superb coffee but also homemade dishes that celebrate the vibrant flavors of the Kiwi culinary scene.

As soon as you step inside, you're greeted by cozy decor that reflects the artistic spirit of Wellington's funky cafes, creating a welcoming atmosphere reminiscent of home for many expats. The ambiance is lively yet relaxed, filled with the delightful chatter of patrons savoring their meals and the aromatic wafts of fresh coffee brewing. It’s the kind of place that feels like a hug on a chilly Zurich day.

Now let’s talk about the star of the show: the coffee. As one customer, Mike Leahy, excitedly shared, “Best coffee I’ve had so far in Zurich.” With skilled baristas pour over each cup, you can expect a rich, robust brew that is a perfect pick-me-up, fueling you whether you're starting your day or taking a mid-afternoon break.

The food at Le Mur is equally commendable. Chef Jasmine takes pride in preparing fresh meals that change daily based on seasonal ingredients sourced from the local market. This means variety and freshness are guaranteed. Tracy Hope shares, "Everything is prepared then and there for the customer, and no meal is ever the same from day to day!" The ever-evolving menu includes exciting options like the delicious New Zealand Pizza and the mouthwatering apricot tart, both of which are not to be skipped. Emphasizing local produce, Jasmine’s dishes are infused with love and creativity, ensuring each visit offers something new and delightful to savor.

Guests rave about the lovely atmosphere and the unforgettable flavors — Andrew Parry affectionately calls Jasmine a “rockstar chef” and encourages you to experience the delightful dishes for yourself. Whether you’re there for a quick coffee or a leisurely lunch, Le Mur is designed to feel like home away from home. As Emma Cordray beautifully puts it, “This is such a special spot… You won’t regret it!”

So, if you find yourself in Zurich craving a cozy nook to enjoy exceptional coffee and creative dishes, make sure to stop by Le Mur Cafe & Kiosk. It’s not just a cafe; it’s an experience that wraps you in the warmth of Aotearoa, leaving you with satisfied taste buds and a heart full of joy.

Le Mur is my home away from home - a little pocket of Aotearoa in the heart of Zurich. It's a cosy little place and it fills up at lunchtime, everything is prepared then and there for the customer and no meal is ever the same from day to day! Every day there are new ingredients, fresh from the local market, so the menu has lots of variety, but everything is delicious. My highlights: the beef and cheese pie and the ginger sable/slice. Jasmine makes consistently high-quality food, excellent coffee, and great desserts - and it's a lovely place to sit and relax and chat.

A little piece of New Zealand in Zurich! This is such a special spot. Jasmine is an incredible chef and makes all her recipes with local produce from the market. Everything is fresh with vibrant flavors. Try the New Zealand Pizza and apricot tart— you won’t regret it! My favorite coffee shop in Zurich.

Jasmine is the loveliest person, the vibes at this cafe are amazing. Great coffee!! We didn’t try any of the food, but knowing Jasmine is a chef and thoughtful, I can only assume the dishes are equally great.
